Hey - I have a Mac mini 2014 using a windows keyboard. It wouldn’t open in recovery mode initially so had to shut down and open by holding the power button and the alt key. When the screen comes up it doesn’t have an EFI option - just the initial install option which gives me an error. Any suggestions?

I am having troube with accent marks (portuguese) besides that it`s going well. It takes some time to get used to the inverted scrolling direction(on windows it`s different. But I love it so far.

Hey So I'm having issues getting the installer on my USB stick, it's.a 16 GB stick but it gets stuck at like 55MB and then after a couple minutes I get a error stating that it was unable to install, anyone have any ideas why I'm doing wrong?

I hope this works for me after accidentally system locking it from find my phone , it’s been a loop since but now installing MacOS soooo fingers crossed

Hi @ansonalexander , I'm in shock, I bricked my gf computer, i tried to install sonoma, and it was very slow and very rare. It asked me admin passwords (for mt admin) and booting with option ico in password protected. ANy idea. THANK YOU I´M DESPERATE

When I select macOS installer it comes up with a default that says (requires High Sierra ) and I can't proceed past this point. What’s the best next steps? Any suggestions? Please and thanks

I am not getting the EFI Boot option. Mid 2011 iMac 27”. I wasn’t sitting with it the whole time so did I miss a step before it rebooted itself? Not sure what to do I now. If I choose MacOS Sonoma option the screen goes gray with lines.

The 2011 iMac was technically supported for only 6 years

THIS IS AWSOME! For me I had to upgrade to Monterey first but after that the mac itself gave me the option to update to sonoma. I actually recommend this bc it guarantees that you don't have any of the problems that you would have if you just downloaded sonoma.

Does this work for a 2019 Macbook Pro? If it does I'm experiencing some issues downloading the "Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) for x64 devices" It gives me a pop up that reads "Validating your request. This may take several minutes. Do not refresh the page or select back, doing so will cancel the request." And no matter how long I wait on that screen it just disappears after a bit and I haven't downloaded it yet I'm also on Sonoma 14.5, have an Intel Core, and I have 178.46 GB left available in storage if that helps

Not good. If i dont have the usb stick installed, it doesnt boot and show a blockage sign. But when i insent the usb it boots just fine. Is it just me or i didnt really listen to you carefully or does the usb stick have to stay in?

Thank you so much! I tried all the steps and the only one that worked as the Cmd+R and Install MacOS Sonoma! I had recently deleted my windows bootcamp partition and I believe that prompted it to happen as I had not downloaded the latest iOS.

They might have a hard time keeping their profits super high if they didn't make people buy a new machine every so many years.

When downloading Sonoma to my hard drive , it gets to 17 percent left and gets stuck. I press shift and it will go all the was to 13 percent left and then will start to back track to 18 back to 14 and then reboot back to the beginning. Any help for this ?

I did an upgrade install from Mojave on my mid 2012 MacBook Pro and everything seems to be running fine and smooth so far.

I rescued and refurbished a 2011 MacBook Pro that someone had tossed. I ran Big Sur on it until I realized how many apps were incompatible with it. All I could do was browse RUclips and use Google Docs, until even the version of Safari I was using was in danger of being outdated. So, I installed Ubuntu MATE on it, and it’s got a whole new life. It’s a workhorse, and a wonderful way to give Tim Cook the finger.

i upgraded to sonoma with no problem on my mac mini 2012 from big sur but now it gets so hot its almost untouchable.
